Valencia Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church

Details

The Valencia Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church has a rich history that dates back to 1932. It was started by a farmer by the name of Fermino Perea who came across a copy of the Spanish missionary magazine, ‘El Centinela’ (the Spanish Watchman). Perea requested a subscription of the magazine and soon organized a Spanish Sabbath school class in his home in Peralta, NM, about four miles from Los Lunas, NM. The class continued to grow but after Elder A. G. Nelson conducted an evangelism meeting and baptized 26 people, it grew considerably. In 1937, the members built and dedicated a small adobe church. In 1984, the Peralta church moved its location to Los Lunas and began building a new church. The construction took several years, but it was dedicated on May 14, 1988 and was given the new name, Valencia Spanish Church. Today, the Valencia Spanish Church is still vibrant and committed to spreading the gospel in Los Lunas.
