Socorro Bilingual Seventh-day Adventist Church

Details

The Socorro Bilingual Seventh-day Adventist Church is a vibrant congregation that worships in the heart of central New Mexico. Socorro is about 75 miles south of Albuquerque and has a rich historical significance in the southwest dating back to the 1500’s. Elder Marcial Serna, a Methodist minister that became Seventh-day Adventist, began working with a group in 1901 in San Marcial and nearby Clyde. The Cylde Spanish church became the first Hispanic organized church in New Mexico on June 14, 1902. When the Clyde Spanish Church was destroyed by a flood in 1929, many members from the Clyde church helped form what is now the Socorro Seventh-day Adventist Church. The Socorro church strives to bring people closer to God by expressing His grace and offering love and service to the community.
