Hi! My name is Naomi Ann Martinez, and I’m from Corrales, New Mexico. I’m currently a junior Theology major at Southern Adventist University. I have a passion for ministry and helping others grow closer to Jesus. One of my favorite things about summer camp is the opportunity to build relationships and share God’s love in meaningful ways. In my free time, I enjoy running, playing basketball and soccer, spending time with friends, and singing praise songs. One of my favorite Bible verses is Psalm 150:6: “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” This verse reminds me that every day is a gift from God and that as long as I have breath, I have a purpose to serve Him, love others, and bring Him glory.

Hi, my name is Lara Ferrer, and I am half Mexican and half Canadian! I grew up in Canada but have lived in Albuquerque for the past four years. My favorite part about working at summer camp is definitely the community, socializing, meeting new people, and getting to know everyone. My favorite Bible verse is John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Every year brings new summer camp experiences, and I’m excited to see what the highlights of 2026 will be!

Hi, my name is Earl Velasquez. I live in Algodones, New Mexico, and attend Southern Adventist University. There, I am studying Business, and this will be my third year working at Camp Texico. In my free time, I enjoy playing sports, going to the gym, and riding dirt bikes. I also enjoy spending time with my horse and working on my ranch. My favorite part of camp is doing activities with the campers and seeing how much joy they get out of the little things. Recently, my favorite Bible verse has been Romans 8:28. I love the whole chapter, but this verse reminds me that God works everything out for good if we trust and follow Him.

My name is Simon Kyalo, and this is my first year working at Camp Texico On the Go. I was born in El Paso TX, and I’m studying nursing at Southwestern Adventist University. I love music, working out, cooking, and hanging out with my friends. My favorite hobby of all of them is music. I play the piano, bass, and guitar, and I enjoy using my talents to worship and praise God. My favorite Bible verse is 1 Peter 5:7, “Cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.” I love this verse because it serves as a reminder for us that no matter what struggles or situations we’re going through, God will always be there for us. I’m excited for camp because the last 2 years that Camp Texico came to El Paso, I loved volunteering and doing activities with the kids.

Hello, my name is Lucas Cano. I live in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball and watching baseball with my dad. My favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:8: “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable think about such things.” This verse reminds me of the good things God provides, especially during tough times.

Hello! My name is Rebecca Turrubiartes, and I’m from Juarez, Chihuahua / El Paso, Texas. In my free time, I love hanging out with my friends, watching TV shows, and listening to music. I have been part of the Pathfinders Club for three years now and a volunteer at the VBS for over 4 years, and I am so excited to be part of Camp Texico On The Go! this summer. One of my favorite Bible verses is 1 Peter 5:7: “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you”. This verse is a constant reminder that God is always in control of everything, and I have nothing to worry about. I can’t wait to spend this summer connecting with God, my friends, and all campers!

Hey everyone! My name is Sofia Turrubiartes, and I’m from El Paso, Texas/Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. I’m currently studying Education at UTEP, and I love anything that involves working with children. This is my first time serving at Texico Summer Camp, and I’m really excited for the opportunity to spend time with the kids, get to know them, and share Jesus with them. One of the things I’m looking forward to most this summer is building new friendships and creating fun memories together. My favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 41:10: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” This verse is very special to me because it reminds me that no matter what challenges I face, God is always with me. It gives me peace knowing that He strengthens me, guides me through difficult times, and never lets me go.
