El Paso, we’re coming your way!
We’re continuing our convocation series with an exciting gathering on October 25-26 at the El Paso Convention Center. We hope this weekend event will capture the same spirit of fellowship and inspiration from our previous convocations in Lubbock, TX, and Albuquerque, and will close out our convocation series for the year, carrying forward the Texico Conference’s mission of unity and faith.

Key Details for Event Preparation
Children’s Program Information: Our program is available for children aged 5-12 only. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate children under the age of 5, so we kindly ask that they do not stay during the program. Adult supervision is required for sign-in and sign-out.
Important Notice: Please be aware that no outside food or drinks will be allowed inside the convention center building. However, you are welcome to bring empty water bottles, which can be filled at the designated water stations inside. Thank you for your cooperation!
Lunch Arrangements: Please note that lunch will NOT be provided during the event. Due to the large number of expected attendees, we are unable to offer food service. Attendees will be dismissed for lunch and are encouraged to return for the afternoon session, which begins at 3:00 PM.
For those who prefer to stay nearby, you are welcome to bring a sack lunch to enjoy at San Jacinto Plaza (114 W Mills Ave, El Paso, TX 79901), located just a short distance from the convention center.

Programa Infantil: Nuestro programa es para edades de 5 a 12 años. Lamentablemente, no podemos atender a niños menores de 5 años durante el programa. Se requiere supervisión de adultos para el registro y salida.

Meet Our Speakers
Richie Halversen is an author, evangelist, church planter, and pastor. He currently serves as the Director of Church Growth & Revitalization for the Southern Union where he coaches churches, pastors, and lay leaders to maximize their impact in evangelism, church planting, and revitalization.
Richie grew up in a family of evangelists. His dad Richard Halversen, who’s worked in evangelism for 40+ years, as well as Richard’s brother (Richie’s uncle) Ron Halvorsen. This imprinted on Richie and would prepare him for his eventual calling in ministry. However, during high school Richie began experimenting with drugs and alcohol. For years he struggled with drug addiction until finally surrendering to new life in Christ. He now spends his time sharing the hope and healing he found in Christ with others.
He has been married to his wife Brittney for 25 years. They have four children: Kaleb, Hayley, Tristen, and Taylor. They live in the Chattanooga area and love spending time together hiking, cooking, disc golfing and playing games together.
Richie Halversen, Director de Crecimiento y Revitalización de Iglesias, Southern Union Conference
Richie Halversen es autor, evangelista, plantador de iglesias y pastor. In 2023, the North American Division’s (NAD) executive committee appointed César and Carolann De León to lead the Family Ministries department, succeeding Claudio and Pamela Consuegra, who retired in March of the same year, after serving the division for nearly 13 years.
César is from the North Pacific Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (NPUC). César served as the vice president of Hispanic ministries since 2016 and has extensive experience in ministerial leadership and evangelism.
César has a passion for the importance of family in personal development and aims to address the challenges families face today, particularly concerning mental health issues, through a Christ-centered approach to family ministries. César holds a doctorate in marriage and family therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary. César and Carolann De León have been married for 36 years and have two adult sons, Zac and Jonathan.
Cesar de León, Director de Ministerios de la Familia, División Norteamericana (NAD)
En 2023, el comité ejecutivo de la División Norteamericana (NAD) nombró a César y Carolann De León para dirigir el departamento de Ministerios de la Familia, sucediendo a Claudio y Pamela Consuegra, quienes se jubilaron en marzo del mismo año, después de servir a la división durante casi 13 años.
César es originario de la Unión del Pacífico Norte de la Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día (NPUC). Desde 2016, César se desempeñó como vicepresidente de ministerios hispanos y tiene una amplia experiencia en liderazgo ministerial y evangelización.
César siente una gran pasión por la importancia de la familia en el desarrollo personal y tiene como objetivo abordar los desafíos que enfrentan las familias hoy en día, en particular los problemas de salud mental, a través de un enfoque centrado en Cristo en los ministerios familiares.
César tiene un doctorado en terapia matrimonial y familiar del Seminario Teológico Fuller. César y Carolann De León llevan 36 años de casados y tienen dos hijos adultos, Zac y Jonathan.
Pastor Greg Taylor has a passion for sharing Jesus with young people and inspiring youth and young adults for mission and service. Pastor Greg has two amazing children named Matthew and Joshua and is married to the beautiful Kimberly Taylor.
After graduating from Spring Valley Academy in 1997, Greg found a summer job as a camp counselor at Camp Cedar Falls in southern California where he first met his wife, Kim. Both Greg and Kim fell in love with camp ministry and continued to work at Camp Au Sable in Michigan for the next few years. It was at Camp Au Sable that Greg felt the call to ministry and decided to study theology/secondary education at Andrews University. After graduating from Andrews University both Kim and Greg taught at Grand Rapids Adventist Academy in Michigan and later accepted the call to Spencerville Adventist Academy in Maryland where Greg served as the Bible teacher and chaplain.
After seven years in the classroom, Greg accepted the call to be the Youth Pastor at the Glendale Seventh-day Adventist Church in Indianapolis. Greg soon received a call to Wisconsin to serve as the Youth Director for the Wisconsin Conference where he ran summer camp, Pathfinders, Adventurers and many more youth-related activities for the next six years. Greg then received an invitation to serve as the Youth Director for the Kentucky-Tennessee Conference where he gladly served for six amazing years. Pastor Greg currently serves as the Youth and Young Adult Director for the Southern Union Conference.
Along with the adventures of being a youth director, Greg enjoys running, playing basketball, playing guitar and spending time with his beautiful family.
Kim & Greg Taylor, Coordinadores de Jóvenes y Jóvenes Adultos, Southern Union Conference

Ms. Kathy, as she is commonly referred to, has had the joy of ministering to children for over 40 years. She is currently the Children’s Ministry Director for the Texico Conference. Kathy enjoys connecting with the kids through real life stories, engaging object lessons and music, which she believes leads them back to the truths in the Bible and of Jesus’ love for them. Kathy grew up thinking that the Bible was just a book of nice stories, but she did not feel that the stories were related to her life experiences. This has had a deep impact in her ministry, and she now strives to lead children to know Jesus as their personal Savior and best friend. She delights in showing them that the people in the Bible went through rough times and similar challenges that we face. Her message and challenge for kids is to, “seek God and always keep Him at the center of your lives. Only then will you discover your true identity.”
Kathy Clifford, Directora de Ministerio Infantil, Conferencia de Texico
La Sra. Kathy, como comúnmente se le conoce, ha tenido la alegría de ministrar a los niños durante más de 40 años. Actualmente es la Directora de Ministerio Infantil para la Conferencia de Texico. A Kathy le encanta conectarse con los niños a través de historias de la vida real, lecciones objetivas atractivas y música, las cuales cree que los llevan de regreso a las verdades de la Biblia y al amor de Jesús por ellos. Kathy creció pensando que la Biblia era solo un libro de bonitas historias, pero no sentía que las historias se relacionaban con sus experiencias de vida. Esto ha tenido un profundo impacto en su ministerio, y ahora se esfuerza por llevar a los niños a conocer a Jesús como su Salvador personal y mejor amigo.
