2026 Texico Conference Pathfinder Fair

ANGUS, N.M. — Set against the scenic Sacramento Mountains near Ruidoso, New Mexico, nine Pathfinder clubs from New Mexico and West Texas gathered at Bonita Park over Mother’s Day weekend for the 2026 Texico Conference Pathfinder Fair.
As the final Pathfinder event of the club year, Pathfinder Fair brought young people together for a weekend of activities designed to strengthen their skills, teamwork, and faith. Throughout the event, clubs participated in marching drills, honors, camp activities, games, and presentations, earning points and recognition for their efforts and accomplishments. The weekend also served as a celebration of everything Pathfinder clubs have achieved throughout the year.
Centered on this year’s theme, Redeemed, Pathfinders took part in worship services and moments of spiritual reflection. Guest speaker Pastor Danny Verdugo shared messages based on the life of Elijah, reminding attendees that God often speaks most clearly in moments of stillness and quiet.
One of the highlights of the fair was a Sabbath School presentation by the Amarillo Spanish Galáticos Pathfinders, who shared about their recent trip to Zion National Park. Through photos and personal testimonies, the club reflected on the lasting spiritual and personal impact the experience had on its members.
In recognition of his leadership in organizing the trip, Eliseo Mauricio received the first-ever National Parks Award. The award was created to encourage Pathfinder clubs and directors to explore national parks through outdoor adventures, educational opportunities, and deeper connections with God in His creation. Mauricio was honored for his vision and commitment to providing meaningful experiences for young people through Pathfinder ministry.
The conference also recognized clubs for their year-long dedication through the Texico Conference 200 Club Award. The Albuquerque Central Sentinels and the Odessa English Light Bearers received this distinction for the outstanding commitment, faithfulness, and servant leadership demonstrated by their directors and staff throughout the Pathfinder year. Their dedication reflects the spirit of excellence and perseverance strengthening Pathfinder ministry across the Texico Conference. The award is presented to clubs that earn 200 points through monthly reports, club activities, and participation in conference-wide Pathfinder events and ministry opportunities. Their achievement stands as an inspiring example of what can be accomplished when leaders and staff faithfully invest in young people’s spiritual growth and development.
Another encouraging aspect of this year’s fair was the participation of newer and growing clubs across the conference. Though still small in number, the Alamogordo Pathfinder Club is making a meaningful impact by welcoming children from the community and creating opportunities for them to become involved in Pathfinder ministry. The Lubbock Pathfinder Club is also experiencing a season of renewal under the leadership of a new director enthusiastically learning the ins and outs of Pathfinder ministry. Likewise, the North Valley Chiles Pathfinder Club is thriving under new leadership and continues to grow.
“It has been a year of significant transition for many of our clubs, and we are excited to see them thriving and growing,” said Eric Chavez, Texico Conference Youth and Young Adults and Club Ministries director.
For many Pathfinders, the fair was about far more than activities and awards. It was an opportunity to deepen their faith, build lasting friendships, and experience Christian community in a nature-filled setting.
Behind the scenes, volunteers, counselors, staff members, and club leaders worked tirelessly to create a Christ-centered environment where Pathfinders could grow in their sense of adventure and their love for Pathfinder ministry.
“Texico Pathfinders is growing, thriving, and building incredible momentum,” said Chavez. “We are so excited about the future of Club Ministry across Texico. None of this happens without our amazing leaders who pour their time, energy, resources, and hearts into serving young people. Thank you for your passion, sacrifice, and dedication. The impact you are making is powerful. Way to go, Texico Club Leaders!”
As Pathfinder Fair came to a close, clubs returned home with cherished memories, stronger friendships, and spiritual lessons that will inspire them long after the weekend ended.
