Exciting Changes: New Texico Women’s Ministries Director and Pastoral Transfer
CORRALES, N.M. – The Texico Conference is pleased to welcome Maria Teresa Flores, affectionately known as “Tere,” as the new Women’s Ministries Director. Teresa brings a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to her new role, promising to inspire and uplift women across the conference.
Teresa is dedicated to her faith, family, and career. As the wife of Pastor Saul Flores and mother of two, she has 34 years of experience in church ministries, primarily focused on Children’s and Women’s Ministries. Starting as the Director of Children’s and Women’s Ministries in Donna, Texas, Teresa has served in various conferences, including Minnesota, Rocky Mountain, Oregon, Texas, and now Texico. She has contributed significantly as a seminar presenter and in organizing retreats at local and conference levels.
In addition to her ministry, Teresa has over 25 years of experience as a Certified Nurse Assistant and works as a Substitute Teacher in Seventh-day Adventist schools in Albuquerque. Outside her professional and church commitments, she enjoys crafting, sewing, Bible journaling, hiking, and building friendships, reflecting her deep commitment to her faith and community.

We are also happy to announce that the Executive Committee has voted to approve the transfer of Pastor Carlos Arellano. As a valued member of our Executive Committee, Pastor Arellano has made significant contributions while serving as the pastor of the Amarillo Spanish, Tucumcari Bilingual churches, and the Dumas Spanish Group. His leadership has been marked by a commitment to fostering community and spiritual growth.
In his new role, Pastor Arellano will lead the Santa Fe Marcy Park, Santa Fe Airport Spanish, and Las Vegas Bilingual churches. His positive influence and heartfelt ministry have touched many lives, and he will undoubtedly be missed by the congregations in the Amarillo area. However, we are excited about the new opportunities that await him in Santa Fe, where his new churches are eagerly looking forward to welcoming him and benefiting from his pastoral expertise.
As both Pastor Arellano and Maria Teresa Flores step into their new roles, the conference is confident that their leadership will not only enhance our mission but also strengthen our community as we work together to serve and uplift one another. Their dedication and vision promise to bring fresh energy and inspiration, helping us to fulfill our collective goals in Christ.
