In Loving Memory of Pastor Derral Reeve
CORRALES, N.M. – With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Pastor Derral Reeve, a dedicated servant of God and beloved former employee of the Texico Conference, who left an indelible mark on our community and beyond. During his years of service, Pastor Reeve touched countless lives, guiding students, teachers, and families with unwavering faith, kindness, and wisdom.
Pastor Reeve served as an Adventist educator for over 40 years, including 13 years leading the Texico Conference schools. His leadership was instrumental in establishing four elementary schools within the conference, creating opportunities for countless students to experience a Christ-centered education.
Affectionately known as “Mr. Reeve” by students and parents, Pastor Reeve had a deep passion for helping young people grow closer to Jesus. Through mission trips, outdoor school activities, and his commitment to excellence in Adventist education, he inspired generations to serve and live faithfully.
Pastor Reeve was also a pillar of Club Ministries, dedicating 56 years to its mission. As the Texico Conference Club Ministries Director, his energy, passion, and mentorship equipped others to lead, fostering faith and service among young people throughout the region.
Derral’s commitment to Christian education, academic excellence, and nurturing spiritual growth left a lasting impact on the Texico Conference and the many communities he served. He will be remembered not only as a leader and mentor but also as a friend and colleague whose warmth and encouragement brought light to all who knew him.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Reeve family, especially to his wife, Barbara, a cherished friend, and hold them in our prayers during this time of loss. Pastor Reeve’s life of service, faith, and dedication will be fondly remembered, and his legacy will continue to inspire us. We find comfort in Jesus’ words:
“I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.” — John 11:25-26
May we continue to honor Pastor Reeve’s legacy by carrying forward the values he exemplified so beautifully—sharing Christ’s love and nurturing the faith of future generations.
