South Fork Fire’s Impact on Local Church Members

CORRALES, NM — This week, the South Fork Fire near Ruidoso, NM, rapidly swept through thousands of acres, prompting evacuations, claiming lives, and damaging more than a thousand structures. Many of us have watched with heavy hearts as our beloved town of Ruidoso has been threatened by the flames. We have been informed that members of the Ruidoso Downs Bilingual Seventh-day Adventist Church have evacuated the area and are currently displaced. Additionally, two families from our church have tragically lost their homes.
We extend our heartfelt support to these church members during this difficult time and ask all members across the Texico Conference to unite in prayer. While we currently do not have specific details on how we can assist, we are in communication with Adventist Community Services and will provide updates on how members can help as information becomes available.
Please stay tuned for further announcements and continue to pray for our brothers and sisters, as well as for the firefighters and front-line workers who are tirelessly battling the wildfires in the area.
