Lee-Roy Chacon

Lee-Roy Chacon was born into a Seventh-day Adventist home in Northern New Mexico. He accepted Christ at an evangelistic meeting at a very young age and was baptized in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Recognizing that God called him to be a minister of the gospel, he received a bachelor’s degree in theology from Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas. During his sophomore year, Pastor Chacon went to Bolivia, South America as a student missionary. Pastor Chacon later completed business courses at New Mexico State University and also obtained his Master of Divinity degree from Andrews University.

Prior to coming to the Texico Conference, Pastor Chacon served in Southern California and Alaska. He worked as an Assistant Treasurer, Youth Pastor, Pastor, teacher Adventist Book Center Manager and Conference Auditor. He also started the first Spanish church in Anchorage, Alaska. He has served as president of the Texico Conference since 2013.

Pastor Chacon is passionate about the Lord and loves to conduct evangelistic meetings. He most recently wrote a book about the history of Adventism in the west entitled, Seventh-day Adventists in West Texas and the Texas Panhandle 1885–1916. He is currently working on his second book in the Texico Heritage Series. Pastor Chacon has been happily married for over 30 years to Nelva. Their daughter Melissa graduated with a double degree in psychology and education from Southwestern Adventist University in 2015. She currently teaches and is the principal of the Milwaukee Seventh-day Adventist school.
